Construction Is Better Than Destruction

Oh! Stop this destruction, my friend.

Don’t wait for my patience’s end.

You not only cut the trees of teak and Sal

But also are paving the way to death’s very hall.

Your axes kill, not only the trees,

But also the soil beneath your feet.

The river nearby floods, doesn’t it?

It will take all this fertility with it.

No grass will then sprout its blade high.

No tree will hold its head towards the sky.

The rains will stop coming,

Leaving this land to become barren.

Desert-formation will set in.

Yellowness will come along replacing the usual green.

Why kill so much, to achieve so little?

Why not replace each plant, instead of just cutting it with a sickle?
