Culinary Tips

1. Instead of using tomato slices in rasam, sabzi or any other such preparations, if the fruits are used after boiling in water, peeling and made into pulp, then it gives a better taste.
2. If you want to preserve ginger-garlic paste for later use, if ¼ teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon til oil are added and left in the refrigerator, the colour will not change and it will remain fresh for a longer time.
3. Today, the fruits that we get in the market are ripened by using poisonous chemicals. To avoid these toxins, fruits like bananas, mangoes and guava can be bought in an unripe condition and ripened at home. One of the methods to ripen these fruits without using chemicals is placing these fruits in a container ¼ filled with rice and covering them again with rice. If this container is covered and left alone, the fruits ripen in 2-3 days.
