Food Recipes for Kids with Tantrums (Part VI)

Continuing with the recipes for kids with tantrums, we are posting 2 of them today. Kejal Sheth, Nutritionist, Weight Management Expert and Founder of Nutrivity.in has shared them with us.

Oats rava dhokla with corn

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup oats flour
  • 1 cup rava
  • ¾ cup boiled corn
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp curd
  • Oil for cooking

Method:

  1. Mix oats and rava flour together.
  2. Add curd, boiled corn, spices and salt to taste.
  3. Mix it well till batter is formed.
  4. Grease a plate and spread the batter evenly.
  5. Pressure cook it without the whistle for 8 to 10 minutes.
  6. Keep checking if it’s ready by piercing with a knife and if it doesn’t stick then it’s good to go.
  7. Remove the thali and let it cool down.
  8. Cut it into square shapes.
  9. Serve it with mint and garlic chutney.

Khichdi balls (with leftover khichdi)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup leftover khichdi
  • ¼ cup Bengal gram flour
  • 2 tsp green chili-ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander
  • Oil for shallow frying
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Combine khichdi and besan flour in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Add salt, coriander, ginger-chili paste and salt and mix it well.
  3. Make balls of it and prepare a pan for shallow frying.
  4. Heat the pan and add some oil. Then, place the khichdi balls on the pan and roast it till golden brown.
  5. Serve it hot with ketchup.
