Mental Health Medicine – no shame in taking them

Today’s topic is Mental Health Medicine – no shame in taking them. There are myths surrounding the taking of mental health medicine. Mental Health Medicine – no shame in taking them

Dr. Devendra Save

Dr. Save says, “You may need medication before other treatment. Yes, it is true that therapy, exercise, rest, diet, self-care and setting boundaries are powerful ways to treat your mental health. But, none of that matters if you don’t even feel well enough to do them. The most important treatment for your mental health struggles depends on wherever you are at the moment. Your symptoms and their severity are critical components to pay attention to. This is why medication is so important. It allows you the opportunity to feel well enough to start making these other forms of treatment habits so that you can feel and function at your highest possible capacity. There is no shame in wherever you are with your mental health struggles and there is certainly no shame in taking proper care of yourself.”
