International Collaborations: With 9,230 international students and nearly 900 international faculty from over 125 countries, Purdue is a global campus community with linkages to institutions, companies, and research activities around the world. Purdue has designated India as a country of strategic importance to the university and seeks to deepen its ties with India across the board — from increasing academic mobility of students and faculty, to building the alumni network, to strengthening research collaborations with Indian institutions of higher education, to deepening corporate partnerships.

Facilities: Purdue’s expansive 3000-acre campus is a stand-alone community in itself, with world-class facilities and resources that include more than 400 research labs and one of the fastest supercomputers in the world; Purdue even has its own airport. Discovery Park, which sits on 40 acres on the edge of campus, houses interdisciplinary facilities, cutting-edge equipment and shared spaces to encourage collaborative projects in life and health sciences; drug discovery and development; energy, climate change, water, the environment and food security; simulation and modelling new materials; information technology, homeland security; nanomedicine, nanotechnology, bio nanotechnology; science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) learning and other areas. The university also houses state-of-the-art research and learning spaces across campus.

Additionally, the following new spaces will transform the Purdue learning experience:
Wilmeth Active Learning Center: Located in the heart of campus, this 164,000 square-foot facility will be used as the main location for classroom and library space. It will house 26 rooms designed for active learning and will combine six university libraries: Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences; Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Sciences; and Physics and Chemistry; Engineering and Life Sciences. It is due to be complete in June 2017.
Bechtel Innovation Design Center: This facility will be a new student project venue that encourages creativity; hands-on, collaborative learning opportunities across disciplines; and the development of teamwork, problem-solving and leadership skills through curricular and student-led projects for students from the College and Engineering and Purdue Polytechnic Institute. It is due to be complete in August 2017.

Flex Lab Facility: A new multidisciplinary research building designed to support the College of Engineering. This facility will provide a transformative environment, encouraging collaboration, team spirit in research, learning and engagement among colleagues with diverse research interests. It is due to be complete in December 2017.
Hobart and Russell Creighton Hall of Animal Sciences and Land O’Lakes Center for Experiential Learning: This new Agricultural and Life Sciences facility will be approximately 128,000 square feet and will house space for modern research and teaching in the Department of Animal Sciences and a provision for predominantly scientific environment for researchers and a world-class teaching facility. It is due to be complete in October 2017.
Honors College and Residences: This facility is slated to be completed later this year and expects to promote academic success through development of a living learning community. The new residence hall facility for the Honors College will embed academic elements and faculty involvement within the residential experience. It will include 800+ beds and around 40,000 square feet of academic space. It is due to be completed in August 2016.
State Street Redevelopment Project: State Street is the heart of the West Lafayette and Purdue community, and has provided many generations with the facility of the primary road directing to and through downtown West Lafayette and Purdue University. Recently, the City of West Lafayette and Purdue University have partnered to advance a $120 million State Street Redevelopment Project that will enhance the vibrancy of the State Street corridor, creating a hub of community activity complete with plenty of very wide sidewalks, green spaces and generous bike paths by the end of 2018.
