Where were you born?

I was born and brought up in Mumbai and lived for most of my childhood in Chembur. I was a very studious kid in school and spent most of my childhood days studying really hard. I just wanted to come first all the time! Sometimes my parents had to tell me to stop! It was just the opposite in my case compared to other kids as a child. Even now my parents get worried sometimes about my extreme focus on work and career.

Full educational qualifications and training in acting.
I have done my Bachelors in Mass Media and specialized in Journalism and Broadcast. I have trained under various artists from NSD. But I have learnt the most by working on the sets of my various regional films.
What did your parents say when you decided that you would be taking up a career in the movies, given the fact that this field is so unreliable and unpredictable?
My parents were very particular that I should finish my basic education first no matter what before trying to pursue this field because of the fact that this profession is unpredictable and unreliable. Also education gives any person a more confident and well-rounded personality. The confidence that I have a plan B and a strong foundation doesn’t make me insecure in this profession. After I finished my education, my parents supported me fully and from then on I have been independent in every way and taken my own decisions always, but I discuss things with them on and off.
Which was your first movie and how did you get it?
My first movie was Lahore (Warner Bros) and I got it through an audition. The director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan Sir made me go through a lot of workshops under Piyush Mishra and other seasoned senior actors to get into the character of the Pakistani doctor.
Which was your first shot? Were you nervous?

My first shot for a film was Lahore and it was in a packed stadium in Delhi. Yes, obviously I was very nervous!
What are your current projects?

Great Grand Masti in Hindi and Badshah, the Don (Indo-Bagladesh) film which just released.

Would you like to mention any projects other than the above?

Chai Shai Biscuit in Hindi, which is produced by makers of Charlie Ke Chakkar Main, Bitter Sweets (a short film), Ouija a Kannada-Telugu bilingual.
Do you think casting couch exists?

Yes, in some places. But it all depends on the person, if they want to take the shortcut or the longer route.
What do you see 10 years hence?

I don’t know about tomorrow! But 10 years later I would love to see myself, having my entire family with my 4 pugs sitting in a nice countryside house and chilling!
What are your hobbies?

I love singing, watching movies in the theatre, chanting (I practice Buddhism).
