Vije says – Laakhon Hain Yahan Dilwaley!

Vije Bhatia was first seen in TV serials and then later he joined films. His latest movie is Laakhon Hain Yahan Dilwaley (LHYD). The actor is unique. The uniqueness not only lies in his acting but also in his name. When I asked him about it, he told me that he took help from numerology to find this name. The spelling was also unique which gave him a different identity.

Tell us about your childhood.
I was born in Sriganganagar, which is a border town in Rajasthan. But soon I was brought to Mumbai because of my father’s job and have been here ever since. I had a very happy childhood and was on to stage right from age 4. I always wanted to be an actor, but was a bright student so went on to complete my degree in engineering.

Which was your debut teleserial?
I started my career as a junior artist for films and TV, but have always been auditioning for the major parts. It was only a matter of time that I got my debut TV show Kashmakash for DD National. Since then I have been getting so many shows on that TV Channel that I am popularly known as the King of DD. (Smiles)

What other serials have you worked in?
I am in fact the only actor to have played 2 major characters in Ramayan, as Bharat in 2009 and Meghnad in 2012. Before and after Ramayan I’ve done many daily soaps like Piya Ka Ghar, Kanya, Kasak, Kabhi Saas Kabhi Bahu.

Which is your debut movie?

Mumbai 125 kms-3D was my debut film which released October 2014 and I got great reactions from the critics as well as the audience.

Tell us more about LHYD.

LHYD is a well-made romantic musical releasing on 4 September. The USP of this film is the music. We’ve included 10 of the best tracks from the 60’s. It was a wonderful feeling to perform on songs that have been sung and composed by legends of our industry.

Are you doing any other Bollywood projects – Café Irani Chai and Pandey ko ghar mila kya? When are they releasing?
Both the films you’ve mentioned will take some time to release. However, my Kaanu is expected to release earlier. It is a very interesting film I am undergoing intensive training for this movie at the moment. I am attending regular acting workshops. Also there is a football training camp that I am attending to get into the role of an ace footballer. It is physically taxing, but the experience is exhilarating. It is slated for a release in early 2016.

Are you doing any other projects at this moment?
Continuing further, Kaanu is one of the best stories I’ve heard in a while now. It’s the most unusual combination that one could think of. I play a major negative role in this film based on football, which uses the principles of Bhagwad Gita to weave a very interesting drama.

Do you have a dream role?
There are quite a few roles I’d like to do but one that stands out is that of Lord Krishna either as it is or as a modern adaptation because this is one character which is not a complete white role. It’s a superb combination of wit and valour and of course loads of romance.
