Continuing with the Mother’s Week celebrations – the week post Mother’s Day, A Journalist Reveals will talk about Mother India, today.
Mother India
When I think of Mother India, I remember this poem from school:
Main banjara le iktara ghooma Bharat sara.
Kahin khade parbat barfile,
Toh phir kahin ret ke teele.
Jangal kahin kahin hai dal dal,
Kahin jheel jharnon ki kal kal.
Sagar kahin hiloren deta,
Kahin nadi ki dhara.
Hare khet khalihan kahin par.
Hare chai bagan kahin par.
Phool phalonse lade bagiche.
Band bandhe naharen nit seeche.
Sujalam suphalam malayaja sheetalam,
Sara Bharat hamara.
Bhasha bhinna vividh pehenava,
Phir bhi satya siddh yaha dawa.
Hindu Muslim Sikh Insayi,
Mil rehte jo Bhai-Bhai.
Oonche oonche Mandir, Masjid, Girjaghar, Gurudhwara.
Aisa apna desh sajila,
Dheer veer pranaveer hathila.
Jisne is par ankh uthayi,
Usne hi bas muhki khayi.
Har nar nahar ke saman hai,
Har naari angara!
I don’t remember who wrote this poem. But, today’s India is not exactly as expressed by the poet. Who will take the responsibility of bringing to India, Her lost glory? I don’t need to add anything more.
