Standard of Living vs. Standard of Life (Part III)

Today’s post is on the standard of life.

Standard of Life:

Standard of life is basically looking at life with maturity. Only spiritually inclined and highly educated people can have such maturity. Most sages in the olden days were such enlightened souls. Many accomplished people, who lived nomadic lives, had a high standard of life.

People with good standards in life are good social workers, too. But, the very concept of social work and its definition have become distorted, today. People join political parties and think they have become social workers. Social work needs compassion toward another living being. It does not come easily to all.

These enlightened people are humane, in the real sense. They go out of their way to help others. They have awareness in them that doing bad for others would attract sin for them. A truly enlightened person would not even think of sin. However, helping others selflessly comes naturally to them.

They live on only absolute necessities. Beyond that, they do not keep anything for themselves. They have a very sacrificing nature. Their quality of life is very high. Want to know more? Stay tuned.
