Today is Bhai Dooj. A brother visits his sister, if married. Then he has food in her house and gives gifts with blessings. Lord Yama is considered to visit his sister Yamuna today. She makes several dishes for him and makes him happy. He gives gifts and blesses that if anyone bathes in your water today, they will have no fear of death.
On this day, normally sweet dry semolina or semolina paiyasam can be made. I wish that I can serve my brothers from the armed forces to the fantastic food prepared by my Mom. But, I can only wish that they get good food and be happy today.
When we got the news of one soldier becoming a martyr on every day of Diwali, this time; it hurt badly. We can imagine how their mothers and sisters would be feeling. Mom and my eyes are shedding not tears but Ganga and Yamuna for these soldiers. We are so sad for them that the flow of tears cannot be stopped.
