Continuing with the interview of Rohit Prasad, the Co-Founder and Director of EaseBuzz,
Describe your journey from 2016 until now.
Well, the journey has been through lots of ups and downs!
To begin with, banks were not giving us a license for payment aggregation. There are several problems when you work with banks because they work at their own slow pace. As a company, we were very aggressive in taking our business forward and that is why we generally find it difficult to work with banks.
As I had mentioned earlier, from 2016, we have scaled to a very large extent because of demonetization. Government regulations and demonetization played a major role. Government regulations were coming into the picture and they were trying to make online payments mandatory, which was a boon to us.
We have grown 1000% from 2017 till this date. Last year we did a total transaction sale of 120 crores and we have about 5000+ active merchants on our platform. Before 2017, we had only about 500 active merchants and the transaction sale value was only 10 crore.
What is your support system?
The biggest support is a combination of SRV’s services along with EaseBuzz which helps us to onboard any customer easily since we are able to provide A-Z of digital marketing and payment gateways. We are able to leverage our payment services with digital marketing tools and platforms of SRV Media and as a result, we could cross-sell this service to our present customers.
Secondly, I think the kind of bouquet or services we offer to our customers is our biggest strength as we are one of the only agencies that give an end to end digital solutions.
So getting a customer on board is relatively easier compared to a situation when you are selling only one service.
What are your future plans?
I believe in next 5 years we would be able to build a lot of technological assets for our customers who would get more returns in terms of investment from digital ad spend. I also see a strong foothold in the global market which we are currently focusing upon. In the next 5 years, we would be a global company with more focus on technology and solutions that can help businesses to scale even more.
