1. Cut or entire lemon can stay fresh if kept in common salt.
2. After grinding masala for any dish, if you grind some Tuar Dal in the grinder without cleaning it, you not only get additional masala for your dishes, but also whatever remains of the masala that was ground earlier comes out with the dal. Besides the dishes made with this mixture become tastier.
3. When you make sambhar with sambhar powder, add some ground masala in it. The masala can be made from 2 teaspoons grated coconut, a little curry leaves and a little coriander leaves ground together. This masala should be added when the sambhar boils. Let it boil for 2 minutes. Add some asafoetida and then switch off the gas. The sambhar thus made will be very tasty. If a thick sambhar is made, it can be used as a vegetable dish. If made thinner, then that sambhar can be had with rice preparations, roti, paratha, naan, poori, mathdi, tepla, khakra, etc.
