Television actor Diya Makhija debuted in Bani Ishq Da Qalma. Since then she has never looked back. Currently doing Suhani si ek Ladki, she will also been seen in a small but interesting role in a new serial on Sony TV. This is the first time I did an interview over Whatsapp!
Describe your childhood.
I think I am very lucky to be born in the city were everyone wants to live and start their career from – Mumbai (Ulhasnagar) and I am very proud to say that I am from Mumbai. My childhood? I realised that it had not ended when I had my own baby. I spent my childhood in a boarding school – Seventh Day Adventist School of Lasalgaon (Nasik). It was a amazing time. I still miss those days and my friends too. I learnt many things at a very small age. But being a kid is being evergreen. I see myself in my daughter. (Smiles).
How did you get Bani Ishq Da Qalma?
Getting the role in this industry, whether it’s a cameo or a lead, really means a lot. This is because the people get to know you and it’s like dream come true. This credit goes to casting directors Prince Modi and Mukesh Mak. They thought I would be perfect for this cameo as they took my small audition.
What are your current projects?
My current project since a year is Suhani Si Ek Ladki of Star Plus which is aired Monday to Saturday at 6.30pm. I am playing Krishna’s sister Rakhi. I am also doing a good cameo for a new show of Sony TV which will be aired from this month. It is called 2025 Jane Kya Joga Aage. The character I play in this new serial is totally different from the character of Rakhi.
Are you doing any movies?
No. But in future I will surely do..
What is your dream role?
My dream role to be like late Divya Bharti and be a successful actress.
What do you do in your free time?
In my free time, I rehearse and spend my time with my family. I also try to do some good things which will help helpless people. My motto is to earn money and spend that money on kids who are forced to beg on roads and help them come out of that situation.
