Last Sunday, the entire nation celebrated Republic Day 2020. We, also, celebrated it on a small scale at home. Thus, I am sharing the report of the celebrations in this post – Jhanda Ooncha Rahe Hamara.
Jhanda Ooncha Rahe Hamara
The song Jhanda Ooncha Rahe Hamara… was written by Shyamlal Gupta Parshad for the movie Aazadi Ki Raah Par (1948). The song is very relevant to Republic Day. India is not the only country celebrating the national festival. Other revelers include Slovakia, Hungary, Guyana, etc. This day commemorates the date when the country’s constitution came into being.
This is a unique and beautiful festival that celebrated the oneness of the country. The whole country celebrates it on a grand scale. On this day, several housing societies perform Satyanarayana Pooja. The main event constitutes the hoisting of the Tricolor. Coming from a patriotic family, we have this ceremony at home and performed at this time as well.
Salutations
Come Republic Day, it’s time to salute the people, who matter to the nation. We first salute the jawans. Next, we salute Capt. Tania Shergill, a fourth-generation army officer, who commanded an all-men contingent during the Republic Day celebrations, this year in Delhi. Our women are empowered and are rising to the level of respect we held in the days of yore.
We also salute all martyrs, who laid down their lives in the service of their country and the country people and the families of these martyrs. We salute Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi for staying away from the temptations of political controversies, still holding strong against the pressure created by her daughter’s rapists.
We spit at the parents of the rapists of Nirbhaya and other girls and little boys for bringing up men, who don’t deserve to live in this beautiful world.
