Kaushal Gupta contacted me regarding WOW Popcorn and told me that the marketing team would be getting in touch with me. Accordingly, Ankita Gupta got in touch with me, with some details about the outlet. I realized that the Kandivali outlet was close to my place, so I asked why a review of the same cannot be done.
Before we go to my review, I would like to enlighten you all about what information Ankita told me about the outlets. Her mail said, “We at WOW Popcorn, Mumbai, invite you to visit one of our five outlets in the city and relish the WOW flavours. The delicious popcorn treat is on us. All we need is for you to pass on the yummy experience to your followers in your own inimitable style of writing.”
She also shared a corporate presentation with me, which said, “We stand for superior quality ingredients for that sensational taste, finest kernels imported from plantations across the globe, great quality at the right price, hot air technology that ensures minimal oil usage and fresh aromas that tease the senses.”
It additionally said, “WOW Popcorns has successfully established itself in Mumbai with four WOW outlets located in Napeansea Road, Bandra, Kandivali, Ghatkopar and a kiosk at Malad. The best popcorn experience with detectible flavours has attracted several customers to our stores. Our fans actively connect with us on various social media platforms. To spread the magic of WOW popcorn, we will be coming soon with more outlets across Mumbai.”
My Take: The mail was tempting because I am a fan of popcorn. J When I visited the small outlet, the hospitality by the store manager, Shailendra and his assistant was good. After I took some pictures of the outside and the interior of the outlet, his assistant picked up some of the flavours displayed in tasting glasses (small goblet-like glasses) and presented them to me. I loved the tadkedar flavours. Though I found that the caramel and the new flavour of chocomelo was good, I feel that popcorn always goes well with some tadka. J
The available flavours include Salted Bolted (plain salted), Utter Butter Flutter (butter salted), Say Cheese (cheese popcorn), Famously Caramel (caramel popcorn), Mumbai Cheese Tadka, Sizzling Pudina, Mexicano (contains garlic), WOW Mix and My Mix. They serve small packets for Rs.70-85/-, medium for Rs.130-160/- and large packets for Rs.240-300/-.
Shailendra then gift-packed for me one small packet of Mumbai Cheese Tadka and one customized mixed packet of all my favourite tadkedar flavours. When I reached home, I discovered that the packets were specially made for me with my name on them! J At home my parents also liked the flavours. Though the area we live in is far from the outlet, Shailendra had told me that it is a serviceable area. I might soon call them for a big party pack of tadkedar popcorns, you never know.
Total Bill: Rs.85 + Rs.85 = Rs.170/-
