Practicing Bhastrika Pranayama will strengthen your lungs. It will also help aid allergies, asthma and respiratory diseases. Practicing this during winters will help heat up the body and keep common cold at bay. It also helps in improving the immune system and removing toxins from the body. Bhastrika Pranayama Method:

  1. Sit in Padmasana with eyes closed.
  2. Take a deep breath and fill the lungs with air.
  3. Gently breathe out.
  4. This cycle on inhaling and exhaling should take the same length of time.
  5. You can continue this for 15 counts in the beginning and then increase the counts as you progress.
