1. People having a cold may touch several objects, most commonly computers, phones, towels, bathroom fittings, doorknobs, etc. The virus remains on these objects for the non-infected people to catch it unless cleaned with disinfectant beforehand.
2. In houses with cold-infected people, the doors and windows should be kept open so that the virus is blown away by cross-ventilation.
3. During the peak season of cold, people are advised to stay away from crowded places like cinema halls, hotels, etc.
4. Cold is spread by droplets. Therefore, keep away from infected people.
