As a consequence of the black magic that was performed by the new bride’s mother, Shweta unintentionally twisted her ankle and fell, injuring herself. Nobody else was at home and the bell rang. Shweta pulled herself toward the door, gliding on the floor. She couldn’t get up. It was the laundryman. The man pitied Shweta and took her to the hospital. Shweta had got a bad twist and was prescribed a crepe bandage and a lot of rest. For 10 days, Shweta struggled alone with her problem because her husband did not get leave. There was no one else, who could help her. She ordered food from a hotel. Her home became cluttered and she could not do anything about it.

One day, the new bride’s mother glimpsed the picture of Goddess Padmavati in Shweta’s house, through a slightly ajar door. On inquiry, Shweta told her that since her husband was a devotee of Lord Balaji of Tirupati, they also worshipped the wife of the Lord – Goddess Padmavati. The new bride’s mother was ashamed of herself because even her family worshipped the Goddess. She told her daughter, “Nothing bad should happen to Shweta. I did this act, unknowingly. The Goddess will punish us.”

Thus, on that night when Shweta was woken up by noises in the neighbor’s home, she spent a sleepless night. When the milkman came the next morning, she opened the door and saw…
