Today, we are posting the fifth part of the 8-part murder mystery – Noise is Good. You can refer to the fourth part here.
Part 5
“This dupatta looks like mine. But, it is not. Vageshwari might have had a dupatta like that. There are several available in the market. At the same time, I can’t explain how my fingerprints came on it. There must be other people’s fingerprints as well on it. The murderer took my fingerprints and placed them on the dupatta. I don’t know how. This is a mystery to me.”
“There are a few more sets of fingerprints. The dupatta is bound to have the fingerprints of the family owning it. One fingerprint has not yet been identified. But, there are more of yours. You might have taken the help of someone else. You have hidden the other person.”
“Why should I?”
“That’s what I am trying to find out.”
Soon, Nitya got Pooja released on bail because there was no direct evidence against Pooja. Neither was there any witness, who had seen her killing the woman.
When they reached home, Pooja’s mother revealed, “That’s your dupatta!”
“Mom, how can that be? I did not go to their place.”
“Vageshwari has been stealing things from our home during our absence, don’t you remember? You were looking for this dupatta last week. It has the laundry mark of the nearby shop.”
“Oh My God! I am doomed.”
Nitya said thoughtfully, “I don’t think so. Only we need to prove that these people have been stealing stuff from your place. And that might be a tough job without a CCTV camera or any other proof. The society members know something, but are not ready to talk about it.”
