On Navaratri (Part XIII)

Today is the ninth day of Navaratri, which is a very important day and it belongs to Devi Siddhidhatri. The other 8 devis come together to form Devi Siddhidhatri. She sits on a large lotus and is a Chaturbhuji Mata. She has Shankha, Chakra, Gada and Padma in Her hands. She bestows all types of siddhis.

Today, Yakshas, Gandharvas, Kinnaras, Gods, Nagas and everybody else worship this Devi. People, who have not been able to perform pooja for the previous 8 days; they will attain the fruits of the pooja in the entire Navaratri, if the pooja is performed today.

Devi SiddhidhatriOffering 9 lotuses to this Devi is auspicious. Alternately, 9 roses can also be offered. 9 garlands, 9 different flowers or 9 garlands of different flowers each, 9 varieties of 9 flowers when offered to this Devi, it is auspicious. If people want to perform pushpanjali, today is the right day for it. Take baskets of flowers according to the availability and budget and pour the flowers like performing abhisheka. This is also called pushpanjali or pushpabhisheka.

According to budget, devotees can offer 9 varieties of fruits or 9-9 of each type. 9 types of vegetarian dishes can be prepared to be offered to the Devi.

Worshipping this Devi can give the fruits of worshipping all the 9 planets. Alternately, while worshipping this Devi, worshipping the 9 planets also gives auspicious fruits. Chanting Durga Navarna Mantra, Siddhidhatri Mantra and Beejakshara Mantras of all the 9 planets together will give benefits. Today, besides this, if Sakti Devi is worshipped with Devi Mahishasuramardini, we can achieve powerful siddhi of the mantras.
