Determine your self-worth yourself. You don’t have to depend on someone else to tell you, who you are. Eminent Psychiatrist Devendra Save explains how to deal with it.
Determine your Self-worth yourself
Dr. Save says, “Self-worth is at the core of our very selves – our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are intimately tied into how we view our worthiness and value as human beings. If you feel you have low self worth, work on identifying, challenging and externalizing your critical inner voice. We all have an inner critic that loves to nitpick and point out our flaws. It’s natural to let this inner critic get the best of us sometimes, but if we let it win too often it starts to think that it’s right!
He adds, “Whenever you notice your inner critic starts to fire up with the criticisms, make it pause for a moment. Ask yourself whether it has any basis in fact, whether it’s being kind or not, and whether what it’s telling you is something you need to know. Challenge it in the things it whispers in your ear and remind it that no matter what you do or don’t do, you are worthy and valuable all the same!”
