Moharram 2018

The first day of Moharram 2018 fell on September 20 this year. Although it is supposed to be a sad day, it is the beginning of the Muslim New Year. Yesterday, some individuals from that religious community living near Govind Nagar and Parshwa Nagar, Mira Road, Mumbai celebrated the festival by distributing food packets and sherbet in their locality. Luckily, I got a chance to cover the occasion. In the following video, one of the people involved in the event, Salman Khan talked about how they got inspired to conduct this event:

I found a Muslim gentleman, who insisted that I call him father and not uncle as I addressed him in the following video. We were fascinated that he was very happy to meet us. He blessed both my Mom and me, who were there to cover the occasion. I found my Abbujaan during Moharram 2018. That is what true secularism is all about – brotherhood between humanity. But, not all are like this. Unfortunately! We have also seen the terror of inhuman people. Firoze Abbujaan explained the significance of the festival in the following video:
