I wrote this story, The Amnesiac! (Part III), in the 1990s for an educational course, I was taking then. Here’s the updated story.

The Amnesiac! (Part III)

The editor told Keshav that Aakash had been given a very dangerous assignment. He was investigating certain mysterious happenings in a place just outside the city limits near Thane district. It was near a resort that had come up, recently.

Keshav communicated the information that the editor had told him to Radha and said, “I got a paper torn off from a letter-pad with their name, address and phone number from Aakash’s pocket when we were searching him.”

“Do you know something, I don’t?” Radha demanded.

“Maybe. But that is classified…”

“Then, why did you convince Mr. Iyer to tell me to join you in this investigation?” Radha was really offended this time.

“Hey, hey, hey. Guys, cool it,” Asha tried to bring an order to the place. “We are here trying to find out what happened to Aakash, remember? So, there is nothing classified here.”

“Near the resort is the Sethi Estate, a large mansion with a large compound surrounded by an electronically secured wire fence,” Keshav gave in. “Last few months have seen some very suspicious happenings there. A couple of resort customers have seen murders happening in the mansion. But these customers themselves disappear before they can be questioned the second time!”
