Shree Balaji Sannidhi

Everybody has ups and downs in their life. Even we were experiencing a severe low during December 2013. When we went to Raghavendra Matha in Jogeshwari, Mumbai, they told us that there is another Raghavendra Matha in Virar. We also thought perhaps that would be closer to our place. When I went about searching for the phone number and address on the net, I found a Balaji temple close to our place. When we started visiting this temple, slowly our difficulties started disappearing one by one.

Founded By: The Swamiji from Palimaru Matha,Udupi, Karnataka.

Located in the prime setting of Geeta Nagar Phase 2, Near Mira-Bhayandar Road; this temple was established by the Shree Palimaru Matha, Udupi’s current Swamiji on February 26, 2013. It is run by the Shree Balaji Pratishthana Trust.

List of Poojas

Special poojas are conducted on occasions like Chandra Yugadi (Kannada New Year), Ram Navami, Hanuman Jayanti, Akshaya Tritiya, Narasimha Jayanti, Guru Poornima, Vaikuntha Ekadashi, Aati Amavasya, Naga Panchami, Vara Mahalakshmi, Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Shri Ganesh Chaturthi, Navaratri, Madhva Jayanti, Vijaya Dashami, Diwali, Tulsi Pooja, Subramanya Shashti, Geeta Jayanti and Shivaratri. They also perform Uapakarma, Raghavendra Swamiji’s Aradhana and Laksha Deepotsava. Tithi of the dead departed is also conducted on the premises.

Future Plans: Currently, the idols of Ganapathy (of white marble), Balaji, Nagaraja, and Hanuman are present in the large compound of the temple. There is also a Lingam in the Garbhagriha of the Nagaraja. The Garbhagriha of Balaji is small and is located on the back-end of the compound. The Garbhagriha of Nagaraja is also small and is located on the left side of the main sanctum sanctorium.

On the right side of the main Garbhagriha is located a permanent stage made of concrete and tiles. This stage is often occupied by the wedded couple during their marriage. The stage often hosts music programmes and Yakshgana performances. Every normal day, on the other hand sees the residents of the Matha together with devotees sing Bhajans in front of the stage after placing photograph of  Balaji and Satyanarayana. On the right side of the stage is located the office. They are planning to introduce black stone idols of Ganapathy and Padmavati as well. There is even one large deepa stambha in the compound, which has a high roof, protecting the compound from weather changes.

In an inner room, Sanskrit Classes, Bhagavad Geeta Classes and Bhajana Classes are taken for children. They will be starting Yoga Classes from the 20th June, 2015.
