Noise is Good – A Murder Mystery (Part 7)

Before Nitya could implement her plan, another shock awaited them. When the police had searched Vageshwari’s flat, they had found among other things a pendrive. After hours of working on it, the cyberpolice had hacked the password used to lock the pendrive. It turned out that the pendrive was Pooja’s. Pooja had stored several pictures and final drafts of her articles inside the pendrive. The police’s suspicion seemed to become stronger.
Pooja would be arrested again. But, Nitya had anticipatory bail ready before the police came. Pooja told her, “Why do they think that I am so dumb? I am a journalist and have written on crime as well. This is a well-known fact. If I would have killed Vageshwari, I would not leave these telltale clues for them.”
Nitya said, “Neighbors are considered to be more than relatives. This appears to be some other matter. Anyways, let me deal with it.”
The anticipatory bail stopped the police from arresting Pooja. Jadhav was not very happy about it.
Nitya convinced Jadhav to join forces with them in the bid to find the real killer. Nitya’s attempt fructified, that night. A man entered the darkened flat of the dead woman, opening the door with keys and using a knife attacked a sleeping person in the master bedroom! When the lights were switched on, Pooja identified the man. The man was Pramesh!
