I wrote this story, The Scam in Junior College, in 2013 and think this is the right time to post it on A Journalist Reveals. This is also one of the stories I wrote based on a real incident. Here’s the nineth part.
The Scam in Junior College (Part IX)
After a few days fed up of the noise in some of the classes, while she taught the students, Radha spoke to the principal. She asked, “Is there a counselor in the college? I need to talk to her.”
“Regarding what?”
“Sir, some students do not listen in class. When I take grammar class, they say that they know it already so they do not want to listen. If they know it, why they don’t perform well? So, I need to talk to a counselor.”
“So, the gist of the matter is that you have still not got class control.”
“Sir, with due respects, if I were a bad teacher then the 2 XIth Science classes would not be listening to me either. Why do they listen to my lecture even if I take grammar? The problem is with the Commerce classes.”
“There is no counselor here. Just concentrate on teaching better,” the principal just brushed off her request.
